What I offer in the Residency:
Sensitivity, honesty and pleasure sit at the centre of all my work. I am in service to the felt experience and the radical self awareness that I know facilitates living compassionately and in reciprocity. The practices that I teach are resources, they develop into a reliable inner toolkit that you can depend and trust upon to recondition yourself back towards a loving, fulfilling way of life.
I work with people who want to increase their emotional maturity by aligning mind, body and spirit. This work teaches you how to move away from resentment, self-sabotage, patterns of victimisation or out-dated protection habits, towards a stable, loving foundation within yourself. It’s about expanding the ability to be with all of life and feel more, without shutting down. It’s not about passifying or calming, as so much of the Yoga practice has come to be, it’s about expansion, acceptance and connection. That is how you will come to know what relaxation feels like in your body.
The process is slow and often confronting, it asks you to work beyond the limited realm of your mind. I hold you through it in the deepest compassion. It is a path towards expanding your ability to trust the entire complexity of who you really are, rather than clinging desperately to the bits you think are acceptable. Choosing to do this work asks you to open yourself to the teachings in order to receive.
That’s why working together closely, within a small group, across 4 days is a valuable opportunity to gently open yourself and deepen your understanding of the work and what it actually means for you and your life.
with grace farmer
As a teacher I am not here merely to pass on information. I show up as cleanly and authentically as I can because I want to inspire a spark within you, where you actually engage with the teachings.
These are the very teachings that I live my life by, the very teachings that have taken me into both the darkest places and the most abundant places. I am in service to these teachings, which are in turn in service to you.
My work teaches you how to befriend your body, so that it can begin to help you understand your mind and reconnect with the essence of everything. I am here to remind you of your true and divine nature. I do this especially for the control freaks, perfectionists and people pleasers, because I know what it’s like to live under the illusion that your mind can solve everything or that you can protect yourself by performing or hiding. It can’t, you cannot. There is another way.
Consider Immersion like a gateway, towards a deeper more embodied understanding of yourself through interdisciplinary mind body practices.
If you choose to enter, do so with an open heart and mind. Do so in spite of the parts of yourself that would rather avoid it.
All of you is welcome.
The Vision for the residency
in a little more detail
I deliberately do not offer this weekend as a retreat. ‘Yoga Retreat’ to me implies a luxury holiday of food and hospitality, with a sprinkling or yoga in the morning and before bed. It’s important for me to write this here so that the expectation is clear and so that we can actually get down to meaningful work that you can take with you beyond our time together. By attending this event, you are choosing to engage with the depth of Immersion.
That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to have a gorgeous time, but it is not intended in anyway as just a holiday.
I offer a weekend to immerse yourself into the practices of embodiment, self inquiry and spirituality. To be guided by ancient teachings, taught for modern life. I hold a mature space, that means each person is responsible for themself, as well as for co-creating a group dynamic that feels nurturing for everyone. This can be challenging and is often misunderstood and morphed into over sharing or the taking on of other people’s emotions. I will be facilitating in a way where this will not happen, because I want you to open yourself, to be prepared not to hide. You can expect exquisite boundaries, all of you is welcome, but you must be able to hold yourself.
Often I will speak at length as I share a particular teaching. There will be writing exercises and interactive discussion, there will be silence and meditation. There will be plenty of things you wouldn’t expect when you think of a typical yoga retreat.
Central to the work is a range of interdisciplinary movement techniques intended to help process and shift energy, connect with pleasure in your body, as well as deepening your understanding of how your nervous system works so that you can expand your capacity to feel more without avoiding, panicking or pretending to be fine.
I teach movement in a very ‘out of the box’ kind of a way, I bring in everything from seated meditation to squats and jumps, to standing in utter stillness. Yoga asana is a main feature, as are energetic practices like tapping and breathwork, and improvisation and free movement. When it comes to your participation in the classes, your agency is encouraged and your respect is mandatory. Move in ways that serve you, set a pace that honours your body and isn’t dominated by your mind, or dictated by me or anyone else. The same is true for how you engage with your thought habits and the layer of conditioning that this kind of work is designed to shine through.
There will be a specific teachings threaded throughout the 4 days together, this will be determined as we get closer to the date of meeting. Once you book on, I will be in touch accordingly to let you know where we will be heading together.
I hope this gives you an idea of the kind of space that I am holding. It may not be for everyone, but it may well be for you. If it resonates and excites you, you are very welcome to join.

Inn-Vivo is an unconventional and ecologically friendly house, situated in 6 hectors of natural woodland. Sandie, John and their 2 children Ayla and Elio built the house themselves, working as sustainably as possible. They will host us and provide us with 3 delicious meals per day in a communal dining area. The meals are prepared in a small, well equipped kitchen, inspired by their French origins, their garden and the local Polish region.
The accommodation is all shared (mixed genders likely, so if you prefer single gender please let me know) there will be 3 people to each room, and if we are fully booked 3 people in the cabin. Shared bathrooms and showers. No single rooms available for this retreat.
There’s a large living/dinning room with soft seating.
All workshops will take place in the Winter Garden.
Food
Our French cook has a background in wild cooking and cultivates a large garden in the orchard. All meals are prepared paying particular attention to the origin of the products and their quality. The eggs come from free roaming hens living on site. The wholesome and nourishing menu is fully vegetarian.
We can accommodate vegan diets, but due to the intimate size of the kitchen we are not able to accommodate gluten free or other special requirements. In the case of other dietary requirements, you may need to provide your own supplements.
Other delights
We’ll have a sauna on every day and fire pits to keep cosy outside. The surrounding area offers beautiful landscapes to enjoy walks and stunning views. Be prepared to wrap up warm, take a tea flask out with you as you enjoy the forests and river. Or, alternatively relax in the garden or snuggle up inside.
